Before becoming Newton County Commissioner of Taxes, Mr. Jordan worked for 20 years in the Newton County Tax Appraiser’s Office. For twelve of those years he was assistant chief tax appraiser. Mr. Jordan was instrumental in formulating the fair market value of various types of property and in preparing the annual county tax digest. He played a key role in the economic development efforts of the Covington-Newton County Chamber of Commerce, the Industrial Development Authority, and the Joint Development Authority
